About mYm design studio
mimoYmima is a small graphic design studio in Brooklyn, NY. We specialize in creating unique websites that play off the strengths of HTML and Flash to give the best user interaction possible without sacrificing accessibility or Search Engine Optimization.
Beginnings
After years of successful work at large web design and technology companies in Manhattan, Brent teamed up with his wife, Teresa in 2003 to start their own company… and that's how mimoYmima was born.
Interactive
We bring interactivity to your site using javascript, and flash actionscripting. We work with audio and video content in sites as well as creating animations to simplify complicated ideas.

Search Engines
Your site will have the content separated from the layout and visual styles using CSS which will make your pages faster and better optimized for search engines.
We'll also put a link to your site from our site which gets crawled regularly by Google so your site should appear on Google and other engines within a few weeks of launch.

Project Sizes
No client is too small or too large to work with us. Because we've worked with many other companies and freelancers we have the resources to complete very large scale jobs.
Clean Code
All our sites use well structured W3C valid 1.0 Strict XHTML which is optimized for search engines and crosschecked on IE6, IE7, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. We never use tables for layout, and we completely separate the markup (HTML) from the presentation layer (CSS), and the behavior (javascript).

Web technologies change really fast and at mimoYmima we try to keep up with the latest trends so that your site is modern and will be expandable and useful to you in the future.
Your Personality
Discovering the personality of your work is our specialty. Some designer's style is so imposing that your site will look more like theirs than yours. At mimoYmima we create unique designs for each client that are based on their personality and style
Our Dancing Flower
A lot of people ask us why our dancing flower doesn't have any eyes. Another good question to ask would be "Why does the flower have a mouth?" … but we never get asked that question.

When it comes to the web we don't just create sites: we've made many banner ads, designed the look of many online applications and created custom email templates for adBase and Constant Contact.

Accessibility
Your website will be accessible, meaning it will be usable by people with all kinds of disabilities. The blind will be able to use your site with screen-readers, we also test your site for use by people with different types of color blindness.
Margarita
We have a cat that looks a lot like a panda bear. Her name is Margarita and she's also part of mimoYmima.
Supported Browsers
Your site will look good on all modern web browsers on PC and Mac. We also take older browsers into consideration to make sure your site will be usable by as many people as possible.
BrightCove
We've been making flash video sites for years, besides making our own custom video players in Flash, we also create video sites using the Brightcove platform.
WordPress Blogs
Some of our clients request a CMS, which makes it possible for someone without any knowledge of HTML to publish new pages to their site. One cost effective way to do this is to use blogging software.
Park Slope
